Our special shows allow you to experience electronics production in the truest sense of the word: Live!
Special show: Electronics.Production.Augmented
In 2015, the special show focused on productronica's new cluster structure: Augmented and virtual reality were used to depict one machine from all five of the new clusters, i.e. PCB & EMS, SMT, Cables, Coils & Hybrids, Semiconductors and Future Markets.
Special show: IPC Hand Soldering Competition
Competition Looks Strong for IPC HSC at productronica 2015. The next round of the IPC Hand Soldering Competition (HSC) will be held this autumn at productronica. This year’s event is highly anticipated after the very successful productronica HSC event in 2013.
Participants in the hand soldering competition are tasked with building a functional electronics assembly within a 60-minute time limit. For the last competition, Master Instructor Trainers Rob and Stefan Walls, PIEK, served as independent judges. They evaluated each assembly based on workmanship, overall functionality, compliance with IPC-A-610 Class 3 criteria, and speed of completion.
This year’s fall IPC HSC competition in Europe is being held at productronica 2015 and is expected to be very competitive. The winner of the competition at productronica 2015 has received 300 Euros and a chance to compete in the IPC HSC World Championship in Las Vegas.
Special show: Cleanroom Event Stage
“Cleanroom Experience—Modern Art of Cleanliness”. Cleanroom technology continues to increase in importance in microtechnology. Everything starts with a clean environment. It can be a cleanroom, but it doesn't have to be. Local clean environments such as laminar-flow boxes are becoming increasingly important.
The purpose of the 2015 Cleanroom Event Stage was to give all visitors the most comprehensive range of knowledge possible and to make getting started in cleanroom technology easy and efficient for everyone who is interested. Among other things, lectures and live interactive sessions have dealt with the following topics:
- Providing clothing and consumables
- Selecting the right furniture and floor coverings
- Educating and training employees about proper behavior in cleanrooms
- How to clean cleanrooms
- Air filter technology
- Cleanroom monitoring
- Internet-based purchasing and consultance
NPL & SMART Group Solder Paste & Solder Joint Automatic Inspection Experience
NPL & SMART Group Printing & Assembly Automatic Optical Inspection Experience was a special feature we have organized for visitors to productronica 2015.
We were also offering the opportunity to win FREE IPC standards on solder paste, printing and joint inspection so please come and join in our Experience with your host Bob Willis live on the show floor solving process problems for engineers.
Solder Paste Inspection, Quality Control, Common Print and Reflow Problems - Causes & Cures Webinar
A free webinar for interested engineers was held prior to the live Experience. The main topics in 2015 were as follows:
- Solder paste inspection standards
- Soldering yield impact with poor printing
- Impact on reliability based on paste thickness
- Solder joint inspection for AOI
- Assessment of AOI and SPI
- FREE Solder joint and product analysis
- Common process defects causes and cures
